Daisy had a very active day today. She had a lunch date at the organic cafe in Soho where she sat quietly in her sling whilst mum dropped her lunch on her. She also made a trip to the midwife clinic where she was very well behaved whilst having blood taken. She'll mostly be spending the evening hiccuping/farting/snoozing....

Tuesday Daisy update
Some things we have learnt about Daisy in the last few days.
1) She can poo for Asia. Highlight was during a dirty nappy change today when she turned on the pipe again halfway through and gave a 'Who?... me?' smile.
2) She likes bathtime (its warm) and hiccuping (its quite funny).
3) She doesn't actually do much. Daytime is spent dozing, feeding and staring blankly, despite Daniel's attempt to get her to memorize the Tottenham 1961 double winning team or appreciate classical music.

Lazy Daisy by the pool

Whisper it quietly...
...but thats 2 decent nights sleep on the bounce. Daisy only woke up once for a feed. Clearly she is now permanently banned from sleeping in our room. Replacing her last night in our room was Wispa who has a stomach like a washing machine. She's now out too.
Daisy passing few solids but plenty of gas...which is nice. Oh, and she burped in Daniel's mouth which he thought was a sign of paternal bonding.

Sunday - Breakthrough
If Thursday night was tough, Friday night was a whole new ball game. Daisy wouldn't settle with Daniel and Nicola's combined baby knowledge of zero, we had another rough night. Having thrown out a global appeal for help, (in no particular order) Grandma Beth, Grandma Jacqui, Claudia, Auntie Gill, Juliet and Darren all threw us some advice and the result was Daisy spending Saturday night sleeping in her own room. Daniel stayed up to watch Spurs race into a two goal lead at Old Trafford, while checking every 15 minutes to see if Daisy was still breathing (please tell me I'm not the only new parent that does this). Having slept for 5 hours straight, Daisy, appalled by the penalty that was awarded to Man Utd, woke up and had a post match feed. She fed at 9:30pm, 2:30am, 6am and 10:30am. Result.
Sunday so far has been spent with a visit from HK aunts Amanda and Tania, with more friends due later. Daisy is occasionally opening her eyes during the day now and definitely focusing more when being fed and changed.
Saturday 25th April - First trip to the outside world!

Daisy's first friend
With apologies to Olly Parker, Simon Posel, Leila Levinson and now Blake Sher, Daisy physically met her first friend today in Flo. Would love to say they played joyfully and bonded for eternity......but actually they seemed completely oblivious of each other and slept during their time together. It will come...it will come.

The first night at home
Interesting, to say the least. Up between 3 and 6am crying, feeding, pooing or gurgling, Nicola and Daniel did not get much sleep. Nicola already gone back to bed (its 10am) while Daisy is laying in her basket staring into space. Poor Wispa can't understand why she's no longer number 1.
The longest sleep of her life
After leaving the hospital yesterday Daisy slept for 5 hours straight, smashing her own lifetime best record. She awoke to find tons of flowers and gifts from the UK and everyone at Merrill Lynch. Thank you all so much

Day 1 of Life
Woke up, fed, slept, cried, fed, slept, cried, fed, slept, cried, fed, slept.
Pretty uncomplicated life so far.
Daisy's has already started to change. She now looks less like an alien and slightly more like her father, although the jury is out on which is worse. Nicola's parents arrived tonight to will provide invaluable help when we all head home tomorrow, seeing as the new parents know absolutely....nothing about caring for a baby.
Daisy got her first visitors and Daniel insisted she acquaint herself with 'Journey' and 'Angry Little Soldier'. Daisy also got signed up with a tennis coach whilst only 12 hours old, possibly a new record....
